is appreciated. So are requests for collaborations. Prices are negotionable. So
are record deals, endorsements (y’all listening, JORDAN BRAND?) and bookings.
We just might show up in a town near you somewhere in the near future. Or
maybee we’re busy that day. Keep supporting us and all local bands and musicians.
It’s our time now:
The
dictatorial regime of record companies is over. The internet has crushed it’s
traditional power and made the publishing of music what it should have been all
along. Niche-marketing. A band, group, genre, style or gimmick for everyone.
The internet created that opportunity.
No need for us
to sell our music from the trunk of our cars, hoping that all of a sudden
hardcore rapfans would grow on trees in our area, or for that matter, our
country.
Today,
from day one, any band’s market is the entire globe, where there’s literally a
market for anything. You want to hit your momma’s cooking pans for an hour long
session and call it an album? Worldwide, there’s bound to be enough nutcases
around for you to break-even in costs publishing your music. Today’s ICT makes
sure there aren’t too much costs to begin with.
New
opinion leaders will emerge on sites on the net to fulfill the
‘wizard-function’ recording companies and traditional media (TV, radio) had
until the last century, pointing us to valuable pieces of music. People need
these new early-adopter types to help them filter the massive load of
information (including entertainment and music) that hits them every day by
following their advice or browsing through their selection.
Ten Men
Enter Records will continue to supply you with original and thought provoking
music. We supply through the internet and regular mail. We will continue to
stress the importance of releasing cohesive selections of songs on albums, as
well as albums fitting a concept.
The
I-Pod generation is guilty of breaking down the need for recording companies to
release quality albums. Ringtones and singles (songs, not single-CD’s) have become
more important. So have the convergence of media (CD-DVD combinations,
exclusive downloads, movies, etc.) and live-performances. That’s why most of
today’s releases contain two or three stand-out tracks and the rest is nothing
but filler.
Our
albums always will be straight thrillers, no filler, with lots of variation and
cohesive stories throughout, with a beginning and an end. Much love to the
Oakland crew of the Living Legends for the inspiration in conquering the world
through supplying music on the net and engaging in an un-healthy amount of live
performances (Goudvishal, Arnhem ‘O5 anybody?).
